We are looking for a Payroll Specialist with French and International payroll experience to work for a world-leading investment bank located in London on a 6-12 month contract. Skills in French Payroll, UK/International Payroll, Tax, NI/Social Security, Reporting, Pay deadlines and Oracle Cloud are a must.

Your Impact: Controllers are a diverse team of specialists charged with ensuring the firm meets the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated and public financial institution. The Compensation Accounting team sits within the Controllers group and manages the monthly payroll bookings for all local EMEA entities into the firm’s general ledger, whilst reconciling all payroll clearance accounts. The team also has responsibility for completing detailed variance and control checks and analysis per the Firm’s Sarbanes Oxley and other control measures.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and process French and UK payroll in line with the local and regional tax, payroll and wage reporting rules within monthly processing timelines.
  • Detailed calculation of wages and applicable deductions based on employee contract and internal compensation rules.
  • Input/update of key payroll & compensation data into Oracle Fusion for processing.
  • Process detailed PAYE and compensation calculations per UK HMRC PAYE rules.
  • Ability to coordinate production tasks as well as the employee helpdesk.
  • Handle enquiries on monthly pay, deductions, and tax from employees and tax authorities.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in compensation and variance records.
  • Handle confidential and highly sensitive personal information.
  • Complete compensation controls for managerial review.
  • Determine organisation's tax obligations by calculating national and council taxes as well as National Insurance and other social security contributions.
  • Liaise with the financial accounting team responsible for booking the compensation to the Firm’s ledger.

Skills & Experience:

  • French payroll skills, preferably within Oracle Fusion or similar payroll package.
  • Experience gained within a large complex organisation, managing financial data and spreadsheets.
  • System literate with experience manipulating MS Office applications and Web/Java based systems (such as PeopleSoft 9.0).
  • This is an extremely busy role which requires the ability to handle a heavy workload and manage multiple deadlines.
  • The successful candidate will need to take the initiative and be capable of working with minimal supervision.
