Our client, an Oil and Gas Operator is seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor. This is an initial 12 month PAYE contract role based in Aberdeen with occasional offshore and site visits. Hybrid working is available for this role.
Job Overview
Reports to the Operations HSE Manager and is an active member of the MH HSES team who provides technical guidance and advice concerning the HSES Management system and associated environmental matters across the MH assets.
Accountabilities
- Provides expert environmental advice, support and guidance on environmental issues for MH Assets.
- Ensures compliance with environmental permits for activities both onshore and offshore.
- Ensures environmental matters are embedded in the integrated management system and maintains the ISO 14001 management system.
- Provides support to the MH Assets regarding new and forthcoming environmental legislation, industry and best practice.
- Understand and promote the environmental and associated legal requirements.
- Identify and supports MH Assets to manage environmental risks.
- Provide strategic input and delivery of the MH HSES improvement plan.
- Lead and/or participate in investigations into accidents/incidents to identify underlying causes, recommend preventative measures and trend performance.
- Lead and/or participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance to legal requirements and the HSES management system.
- Performance assessment, monitoring, benchmarking and reporting - regulatory as required and to client shareholders.
- Onshore based however will require regular visits to offshore installations as required.

Education
Degree/qualification in Environmental Management or related subject.
Work Experience
- Experience of oil and gas production activities.
- Knowledge and experience of integrated management systems with environment embedded - risk management, assurance, tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of UK environmental legislation.
- Experience and Knowledge of ISO14001 Certification.
Offshore BOSIET and Medical required.
External Industry Regulators eg UK OPRED, Environment Agency.
