WELL PERFORMANCE ENGINEER
Our client, a Major Oil and Gas Operator is seeking an experienced Well Performance Engineer. This role is based in Aberdeen with a hybrid working model in place. It is an ongoing PAYE contract position.
Activities:
Well Performance Group Animation:
Contributor to the preparation of Monthly Well Performance Group Meeting slides and active participant during meeting.
Maintain a high level of communication and exigencies around transverse work
Well Monitoring Strategy:
Assist with the appropriate Well Monitoring strategy (well testing, sampling, analysis, sand, chemical injection ) and ensure its implementation through proper KPIs.
Investigate the appropriate potential alerts and corresponding actions – ensure Operating Procedures are reflecting them.
Ensure that any monitoring device is properly working, reliable and accurate enough. Suggest modifications and action any work to be undertaken.
Wells potential and productivity:
Based on Monitoring Trends and Well Test interpretation with adequate models, understand any drift in well productivity from an Inflow/Outflow point of view and track root cause.
Ensure a Short- Term Interval control of Wells Potentials through adequate Monitoring Views.
Ensure that daily Mismatch is under control and track any potential reason when above 5%.
Contribute to Monthly Production Guidelines (MPG) and ensure consistencies with GSR profiles and OPS vision (Constrained Potential) – explicit any operating constraints.
Based on Well Productivity analysis, define the Unconstrained Potential for each well and the actions to secure the difference. Give reason, mitigation measures + estimate a percentage of recovery.
Understand short term well threats (producers and injectors) and ensure remedial actions are launched. Make them visible through the Well Perf Group Meeting.
Ensure that Closed Wells are regularly reviewed.
Prosper & GAP well & production modelling:
Contribute to the maintenance of Prosper well models, ensuring built & kept updated with latest well tests, PVT & reservoir data.
Learn how to build & run GAP models, keeping updated on the asset.
Understand and ensure that GAP / PROSPER models are used to proactively detect production bottlenecks.
Use of Nodal analysis, multi-parameters analysis, quick-look analysis.
Well interventions:
Understand the Intervention & Monitoring portfolio with priorities and justification and provide adequate data to Performance and Growth team for opportunity list update.
Ensure accurate & detailed Well Intervention Requests are issued on time before the jobs. Have an understanding of ongoing and future operational activities (Drilling / Completion / Operations / Projects).
Help prepare and participate in Well Reviews.
Understand and contribute to the preparation of gain estimates for well intervention jobs.
Follow-up progress.
Productivity Studies:
Contribute to any Detailed Studies (activation, scaling ) to solve current/future threats.
Realize ad-hoc synthesis.
Ensure efficient data and document management.
Sand Management
Accountabilities:
Responsible to ensure that all wells are operated at their optimum potential
Responsible to detect any degradation of potential and help identify remediation solutions and propose action to increase potential
Responsible to provide accurate well / fields / areas potentials
Responsible to provide high-level of troubleshooting to support the Site
Responsible to ensure that assigned well performance actions are closed out on time and as required
Guarantee efficient transverse relationship between all operational entities involved in well production & productivity
Qualifications/Experience required:
Degree in Petroleum Engineering or Reservoir Engineering or Well engineering
Experience in well operations / well performance role and experience in a reservoir engineering role
Demonstrate HSE commitment, Openness to change, ability to question and challenge current practices and innovate
Software Knowledge: PI, Prosper, GAP, Olga, Excel, Wellview, OFM, NPDMS, IFM, IVM.
