Our Client is looking for an experienced Instrument Technician on a contract basis (3on/4off rotation).
Contract Details
- Type: Temporary Contract – PAYE tax status
- Start date: ASAP
- End date: April 2026 (may be extended)
- Rotation: 3 offshore / 4 onshore
- Reports up to: Instrument Lead
Responsibilities
- Extensive experience as an Instrument Technician within the UKCS is a prerequisite.
- Knowledge and experience working on FPSOs is preferable.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance duties on the DCS, control systems, and all associated equipment.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate all instrumentation on the installation.
- Repair and calibrate all fire and gas systems.
- Repair and maintain all electronic control systems.
- Regularly inspect the instrumentation system to ensure correct operation of equipment, including DCS, F&G, and ESD systems.
- Direct liaison with Kongsberg for technical assistance as required.
- Implement and follow Planned Maintenance routines and corrective work orders from Maximo Maintenance Management System (MMS).
- Ensure all equipment adheres to intrinsically safe codes of practice.
- Maintain operational effectiveness of the computer LAN onboard the installation.
- Use spare equipment efficiently and administer the MMS.
- Complete all training as directed, including onboard familiarisation.
- Ensure continuous compliance with the client’s competency assessment procedure.
- Carry out ATEX inspections as directed.
- Perform tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
- Stand in as Instrument Lead as required.

- Calibration of process level transmitters

- Offshore lifeboat coxswain
Education, Experience & Qualifications
- Combined Offshore Survival, Fire Fighting and HUET Certificate
- MIST / IMIST
- Oil & Gas UK Offshore Medical Certificate
- Oil & Gas UK Certificate of Fitness to Participate in Emergency Response Team Duties
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
