The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
This role is responsible for providing efficient competence advisory services within the Client's operated assets, technical and HSE functions. Maintains latest standards, procedures and systems to ensure consistent best practice is deployed in the competence area satisfying Country specific legislation and the Client's requirements. Provides operated assets support for assessment and verification. Supports functional competence frameworks and assessment across the business.
The role and its responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Onshore position with hybrid working pattern in place.
- Willingness to travel both offshore as well as to Client's facilities may be required in this role to meet the needs of the business.
- The successful incumbent will have ideally worked directly for an Oil & Gas Operating Company.
- Experience of the UKCS and have working knowledge of competence management systems.
Support the development of site, business and portfolio competence assurance plans in a timely manner to identify technical and legislative competence needs. Conduct assessments and/or internal verification as required. Manage the competence assurance register and build effective relationships with assessors and internal verifiers assisting with standardisation meetings and ensuring they are following correct process. Manage Competence and Job Profiles in the Competence Management System and prepare and issue competence reports. Actively contribute to key competence strategies including competence frameworks. Maintain assessment programmes for Safety Critical, Operational Critical and Technical that will minimise risk to the safety of personnel, the integrity of the assets and the maintenance of the environment at both the offshore and onshore locations. Provide support for any audit and inspections that involve Competence CMAPP Commitments and HSE Policy.
Promotes a positive Incident Free Workplace culture by driving HSES and process safety performance and regulatory compliance through adherence to company standards & procedures, including the Client's CMAPP and HSES Policy. Proactively maintains their technical and interpersonal skills and competencies, ensuring capabilities are up to date and in line with industry/functional best practice and that behaviours are in line with Company core values. Collaborates effectively, adapting their behaviour and communication as needed to get the best from others. Effectively promotes ideas and opinions and can influence others in a constructive way. Presents and articulates ideas and arguments effectively, projects credibility and conviction, handles objection and incorporates others' ideas as appropriate. Is familiar with and adheres to the Client's people policies and procedures.

Great communication skills that inform/shares knowledge clearly and unambiguously and implements and embeds change. Networks effectively internally and externally, creating an immediate, positive and credible impression on others. Leads other parties in conversations on the important issues and use persuasive contributions to influence change and action.
Key Technical Skills and Competencies:
- Production Operations background.
- Proven experience in previous competence coordination.
- Offshore asset location experience and mobility to carry out regular trips.
- Experienced with competence management systems within the upstream oil and gas industry.
- Knowledge of safety case requirements, regulatory requirements and competence assurance management standard.
- Knowledge and experience in development and/or maintenance of units of competence criteria and range of equipment would be required.
- Experience in communicating competence requirements and changes.
- Working knowledge of competence management systems.
All industry competency certification including offshore BOSIET with CA-EBS, MEDICAL and MIST are required for this role. All candidates must have The Right to Work in the UK, as no sponsorship is available.
