Overview
PETROPHYSICIST
Our client, an Oil and Gas Operator in Aberdeen is seeking an experienced Petrophysicist. This is an expected 12 Month PAYE contract role.
Responsibilities
- Autonomously work with the vendor, subsurface & wells departments and assurers to write and optimise the logging programme for a Penguin NPNT, horizontal well with LWD data and pressure points. Planned drilling Q3-2026
- Operations Petrophysicist providing real time QC and interpretation of the data, picking and interpreting formation pressure points and in time delivery of formation properties at TD for completion decision.
- Autonomously work with the vendor, subsurface & wells departments and assurers to write and optimise the logging programme for two well integrity logging jobs in Pierce. Planned for Summer 2026
- Operations Petrophysicist providing real time QC and interpretation of the data, working within the team to inform the use of the data in the operation.
- General Scope: QC and finalise Petrophysical data and follow data delivery guidelines to ensure corporate and regulatory databases are updated
- Work in a small team of Petrophysicists and support delivery of other well logging activities, leveraging any relevant experience in open and cased hole data acquisition and interpretation
- Willing and able to flexibly work the hours associated with rig operations
Qualifications
- Highly skilled in Techlog including realtime and Quanti modules.
- Highly skilled in open hole LWD data QC and interpretation
- Highly skilled in cased hole well integrity, corrosion and caliper logging
- Skilled in Microsoft 365 suite
