Our Client, Aberdeen based oil and gas Operator is seeking an experienced Operations Advisor to join their Aberdeen team with trips to Site (Barrow/Offshore). Starting ASAP until scope completion, expected 31st December 2025. It has 3 days working in the office and 2 days work from home hybrid policy.
Job Overview
Accountable for the development of operating integrity framework and its assurance and governance processes. Provides subject matter expert input across the full lifecycle of all operated assets.
Role Deliverables and Responsibilities
- Lead the refresh of a Client (SE) Permit to Work Process (PtW) and Safe Isolation and Reinstatement of Plant processes - both the development and coordination of the embedding. The revised processes will be standardized across the assets and ensure the right balance between effective and efficient.
- Lead the update/enhancement to Client's electronic permit to work system, including effective MoC and any required procedural changes.
- Working with the Training and Competence Team drive improvements in the effectiveness and efficiency of the T&C process for Operated Assets. A key focus is on how to measure status of T&C across shifts.
- Provide support and objective input to any complex production operations issues or threats across the operated assets.
- Establishes and maintains a working culture in line with Client's core values. Familiar with Client's Leadership Expectations - clearly demonstrates their own capability in line with these. Lives by Client's safety principles and is passionate about having an incident-free workplace.

Competencies
- Good understanding of operational management and operations readiness and assurance.
- Good understanding of major hazard legislation and its implication for operational controls.
- Good understanding of Process Safety Management and the practical applications of an operating integrity framework.
Key Technical Skills
- Strong operational leadership and management skills commensurate with influencing large operational teams in Major Accident and Hazard environments.
- Recognised leader in Operating Integrity.
- Effective Financial management of costs.
- Maintains and continues to develop the competencies necessary to carry out the role to the required standard.
Education
Degree preferred, however not essential with the right experience.
Work Experience
The post demands in depth experience of the oil and gas industry including at least 10 years within operations at supervisory and management levels to manage the diverse range of activities.
Certifications
BOSIET and MIST (or ability to get these).
Mandatory Training required
All Client's mandatory training as requested, including Compliance training usually provided annually.
