Our client, an Oil and Gas Company is seeking an experienced Hydraulic Mechanical Technician. This is a permanent position with a 3on/4off rotation, mobilising out of Aberdeen. FPSO knowledge is preferable.

The Mechanical Technician (Hydraulic) is responsible to the Mechanical Lead for:

  • Acting as hydraulic technical focal point onshore.
  • Providing support to offshore installations for all hydraulic maintenance requirements.
  • Making cost effective and safety decisions/investigations regarding the repair, maintenance and modifications of all installation equipment.
  • Reviewing planned maintenance routines to ensure equipment is maintained correctly whilst making the most effective use of the workforce.
  • Liaising with vendors when required for offshore support.
  • Preparing/reviewing engineering work packs and close out reports developed externally for technical content.
  • Determining spare part requirements for items of equipment.
  • Co-ordinating lube oil/grease supply for all installation equipment.
  • Preparing material/service requisitions, offshore visit request forms and requests for modifications.
  • Preparing specifications for additional installation of equipment.
  • Working in accordance with agreed performance standards, targets, and goals.
  • Actively contributing towards continuous improvement initiatives.

General:

  • Keeping knowledge and procedures up to date on all relevant aspects and sharing this within the department.
  • Reporting regularly to the Lead Mechanical Tech on personal achievements.
  • Correctly administering work.
  • Using and maintaining corporate standards.
  • Developing and proposing improvements.
  • Assisting the onshore emergency organization when required.

Requirements:

  • Experience as Hydraulic Technician in a North Sea environment.
  • Thorough, relevant experience in mechanical hydraulic engineering.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Computer literacy for discipline calculations and document processing.
  • Affinity with technical matters and in-depth analysis of technical problems.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
  • Awareness of the safety culture in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Good understanding of a multicultural, 24/7 production environment.
  • Valid survival certificate and offshore medical (plus any other industry standard pre-requisites to travel offshore).
