The Health & Safety Advisor is responsible for independent Health and Safety advice to ensure the company operates in a manner which is compliant with corporate objectives and applicable legislation. This role focuses on Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) matters, but necessarily also incorporates some aspects of Major Accident Hazard management. This role includes some routine operational support aspects but focuses on delivery of improvement projects, helping to continuously improve safety of our operations.
Function
- Liaise with the asset and corporate management team as well as external organisations to develop and execute appropriate plans to manage, monitor and improve OHS performance and implement related projects. Topics include Safety Critical Task Analysis and Self-Assurance.
- Writing and/or updating of the procedures for the related projects.
- Support onshore and offshore teams in auditing and self-assurance activities.
- Support onshore and offshore teams in incident investigations and lessons learned.
- Liaise on a day-to-day basis with the Lead HSE Engineer in Aberdeen.
Requirements
- Proven track record in an onshore/offshore Safety Advisor or similar role, preferably including longer-term improvement projects.
- Willingness to perform activities onshore, offshore or with clients.
- Visit assets on a regular basis.
- Knowledge and/or interest in data handling and analysis (Power BI).
- Experience with UK offshore Health and Safety legislation and requirements of main regulatory bodies.
- Experience in auditing and incident investigation.
- Hybrid working available either working from home on Monday & Friday or Wednesday & Friday (agreed with line manager).
