They are looking for an enthusiastic and visionary Production Engineer to be a part of the evolution of the engineering team. You will be looking at existing equipment and processes and have a key role in reinventing or introducing new ones. Advanced automation is the future, so you will need to be self-driven and largely autonomous to create, find, and implement new technology. While their primary focus is Advanced Composite Machining, prior composite experience is not a prerequisite—on the job training will be provided to the right candidate. This role offers excellent work-life balance, including a half-day Friday and a generous holiday allowance of 25 days plus statutory days.
Key Responsibilities
- Automation & Future Tech: Research external machining trends, perform cost/benefit analysis, and write CapEx justifications to introduce automated systems to the shop floor (i.e. Cobots).
- Process Evolution: Shift repeating orders toward de-skilled, highly efficient processes.
- Advanced Fixturing: Design and develop common tooling systems, modular fixtures, and single point workholding (Doosan, Hedelius, Berlotti).
- CAD/CAM & Programming: Generate high-tier models, assemblies, and drawings on CAD, and prove out complex machining programs on CAM.
- Collaborative Costing: Partner with customers, suppliers, and internal engineering teams to generate accurate product costings and resolve high-level technical issues.
- Quality & Standards: Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with rigorous aerospace and automotive standards (AS9100, ISO9001, TS16949).
