Install, restore, repair, improve, and maintain plant and equipment to achieve optimum performance, whilst working safely at all times. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the completion of daily and weekly tasks in a timely manner, adopting an analytical approach to problem solving, identifying the root cause of failures, along with proposing appropriate corrective or sustaining actions.
Key Accountabilities:
- The completion of routine maintenance tasks scheduled in the department's activity plan, while understanding the Key Performance Indicators and how they impact on plant performance on a daily and weekly basis.
- Report any issues or barriers to the completion of the activity plan to the Maintenance Lead.
- Where a problem occurs within the scheduled task, use own initiative to rectify the situation or notify the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Installation of plant and associated equipment. Assist in the completion of fault finding to determine the root cause of failures and identify sustaining actions to prevent their re-occurrence.
- Take an active role in Professional Maintenance projects as requested.
- Assist in the reduction of plant downtime.
- Undertaking maintenance tasks within the wider site.
Qualifications required to fulfil the role:
- Completed a maintenance or engineering apprenticeship.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in relevant subjects.
