My Client, part of a global Engineering and Fabrication organisation, are looking for a qualified CAD Draughtsperson for their Burton on Trent facility. Candidates must have a good 8 to 10 years background in Engineering using CAD design.

The CAD operator must have a good working knowledge of CAD systems, Autodesk, Inventor, Revit, BIM & Solidworks systems to make drawings and plans which can be used to facilitate the fabrication of steel products and anything else that requires a design prior to being manufactured. The products manufactured are not small batch products; they are very large steel fabrications.

CAD Technician Job Overview
  • Understands the quotations and written instructions from clients, designers and engineers before beginning a CAD drawing.
  • Draws basic layout of products from client instructions. Revises drawings based on instructions from engineers or clients.
  • Occasional visits to sites/locations to collect data for drawings.
  • Consults with engineers to understand their instructions and to support queries. Reviews engineering data to ensure compliance with the original design plans.
  • Modifies existing drawings. Meets all deadlines. Stores drawings electronically. Programs drawings into schedules for priority.
  • Office related duties as and when required.
CAD Technician Job Requirements
  • Must be Steel Fabrications inclined.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must have superior computer skills.
  • Must have good math skills.
  • Knowledgeable CAD Operator, and Autodesk CAD knowledge or other, with some proven experience.
  • If required, must be able to travel to various sites to gather data and consult with contractors & clients to collect data regarding design or to any other associated work where CAD drawings will be used.
  • Must be able to work under pressure, particularly when faced with a tight deadline.
