The Resources and Waste Associate will bring knowledge and experience to support the work of the Council Support Unit across a wide range of resources and waste management projects, both technical and advisory support. This post will have a key role to play in the delivery of strategic and technical support to DAERA.
It will require:
- Stakeholder engagement and management
- Engagement with DAERA and NIEA
- Support in relation to the development of new legislation and policy
- Support in relation to determining infrastructure requirements
- Scoping solutions to current risks and issues relevant to the sector
- Data collection and analysis
- Waste data modelling
- Development of databases to add value to key stakeholders
- Report writing
- Business case development
- Strategy development
Whilst primarily providing strategic and technical support to DAERA, this post will also work on a range of other waste management related projects, as and when required. This will enable SIB to meet current and future demand for the provision of waste management advisory support to central government and local councils, thus enabling departments and councils to meet waste management challenges and align with government targets and waste related sustainability requirements.
