We are seeking a capable Business Services Assistant to join our team, supporting the Business and Financial operations of the company. The primary focus of this role is to work closely with the CEO on effectively managing these Business and Financial operations, while also contributing to various activities and initiatives across the business. Full training and education will be provided to the successful candidate. This role is a great opportunity for a candidate who is keen to be exposed to and learn many aspects of running a growing business. The successful candidate will act as a key support service to the overall business, working on operations in both the UK and European geographies.
Role Responsibilities:
- Complete monthly and weekly invoicing in relation to existing client engagements
- Organising and managing payroll calculations in UK, Netherlands, Paris and Germany
- Supporting the creation of quarterly VAT returns and annual Corporation Tax returns
- Monitor holiday utilisation and absences of client facing consultants
- Support financial and cashflow forecasting across the business
- Manage renewals of subscriptions and commercial agreements i.e. software, insurance
- Conduct employee screening and create contracts for new employees and contractors
Candidate Skills:
- 1-2 years of working in a business environment
- Solid experience of Office tools i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint
- Self sufficient and capable of planning monthly and weekly activities
- Keen to learn new skills and understanding of business operations in different geographies
Working Pattern:
- 35 hours per week from Monday to Friday (8 hours per day including 1 hour lunch break)
- Hours of operation between 08:00 and 17:00
- Primarily remote role with weekly requirement for onsite business review meeting in East Lothian, Scotland
Role Specifics:
- Start Date ASAP subject to security checks
- Salary £32,500 per annum
- Employment benefits including non-contributory pension
- 34 days holiday per annum (inclusive of local public holidays)
Candidate Requirements:
- Already eligible to work in Scotland (no visa applications will be supported for this role)
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Must already live in commutable distance to East Lothian, Scotland
