From architecting global communication campaigns combating climate change to producing flagship UN reports, we deliver communications, content, and capacity building services to clients who are trying to make the world a better, safer and more equitable place. We’re now looking for a visionary and dynamic Strategic Communications and Marketing Lead.

So what will you be doing?

  • Client engagement: Work with clients to understand their communications needs and offer strategic advice on media relations and public positioning. Workshop and present campaign strategies, progress, and results to senior stakeholders in client organisations. Build long-term client relationships by consistently delivering exceptional results and insights.
  • Campaign design & strategy: Design, develop and lead high-level, multi-channel communications campaigns for international clients that achieve measurable goals like increased fundraising and profile awareness. Identify key messages and positioning to effectively communicate clients' objectives to global audiences. Oversee the execution of campaigns from inception to completion, evaluating impact and optimising performance.
  • Team collaboration: Work as part of a team of communications professionals, ensuring high performance and development of skills. Coordinate with internal teams, including content creators, translators, and designers, to deliver integrated communications solutions.
  • Sales and Marketing: Develop and maintain sales campaigns and pipelines for our software packages. Help us to sell ourselves, generating more leads and more work from our existing clients.
  • Media relations & placement: Ability to cultivate relationships with key journalists, editors, and influencers in top-tier global and regional media outlets, including traditional print, broadcast, and digital platforms. Develop media outreach strategies to secure coverage in influential publications and platforms relevant to clients' industries. Act as the primary point of contact for media inquiries, ensuring accurate and effective communication on behalf of clients.

What we need from you:

  • You’re a people person! - Relationship building will be key in an AI-first world. You need to be able to be trusted comms advisor to our clients and both an excellent team player and team lead.
  • CREATIVITY - with budgets being slashed you need to be able to help clients do more with less. This means coming up with creative ideas to get them heard.
  • Entrepreneurial - you’re someone who understands the commercial side of comms and is ambitious about growing this side of our business. At least 4 years of experience in strategic communications, sales and marketing or media relations, with a proven track record of landing campaigns.
  • Strong project and collaboration skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for international relations, development, and global media landscapes.
  • Brilliant English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in using web and social media analytics.
  • The ability to spot interesting stories or opportunities and quickly turn them into engaging content for our audience.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in the not-for-profit/NGO/development sector or a strong desire to work in this sector and a clear understanding of its challenges.
  • Agency experience, preferably of working with senior decision makers in Government or the private sector.
  • Media planning/buying experience.
  • Social media management.

Salary and benefit: £38,000-£45,000 per annum plus a range of benefits including: Training support, 30 days holiday, Free yoga in the building, Health cash plan.

Location: London (office-based, at least 4 days a week).
