Strategic Agenda is looking for a Bid Writer and Proposals Manager to join our London team. The core of the role is finding, shaping, and winning bids and proposals — but you’ll also work alongside our communications team on creative projects and contribute to broader business development.

About Strategic Agenda: We help development organisations and for-profit for-good companies create the right content to get the right people to do the right thing. From visual impact reporting to designing global communications campaigns, we help clients show their impact so that they can raise more money and do more good.

What you’ll actually be doing:

  • Leading bid processes end to end: requirements, timelines, compliance, and quality
  • Writing and assembling compelling, well-structured proposals
  • Working with project managers to develop financial proposals and quotes
  • Identifying and researching prospective clients
  • Managing our memberships of tender and procurement portals
  • Maintaining and developing our library of bid materials and templates
  • Reporting on bid submissions and outcomes
  • Building relationships with UN agency procurement teams

Communications:

  • Taking an active role in our weekly communications and marketing meeting, both to report on bids and also to generate ideas and help our marketing and communications plans to come to fruition
  • Creating direct proposals/creative campaigns to make bids more compelling
  • Co-ordinating case studies and other copy for the website by working across the whole team.

Who we’re looking for:

You are highly organised, self-directed, and thrive in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and deadlines stack up. You write clearly and precisely in British English, bring sound numerical literacy to proposals and budgets, and are confident moving work through a process — including managing up when needed. You’re also personable, enterprising, and bring genuine curiosity to the sectors we work in. You can work independently and manage your own workload and time effectively.

Essential:

  • Excellent written English — clear, structured, and persuasive
  • Strong organisational skills; comfortable owning multiple workstreams independently
  • Numerate, with confidence handling figures in bids and proposals
  • Proficient in MS Office and Google Suite
  • Working knowledge of AI tools, particularly Claude and ChatGPT
  • Meticulous attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Interest in international development, humanitarian affairs, or the for-profit-for-good sector
  • Experience using — or readiness to learn — Canva, WordPress, social media management tools, and Google Analytics

Location: London (office-based, at least 4 days a week)
