Overview: Healthy Lifestyle Advisor at Strategic Advocacy – target: weight management program in Bolton.
Role Purpose: Your Health Bolton – deliver targeted weight management curriculum, including engaging nutrition sessions and suitable physical activity, contributing to residents becoming active through our interventions. Motivated, passionate, organised and proactive advisor with community health background. Full in‑house training package.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver group weight management sessions that include nutrition, physical activity, and behaviour change, per ABL Health protocols and NICE guidance.
- Carry out client‑centred assessments using motivational interviewing and positive psychology to support progress and maintain a caseload, monitoring outcomes and signposting to relevant interventions.
- Accurate record‑keeping and data entry, contributing to service development and supporting goal setting using SMART principles.
- Work flexibly as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, addressing broader lifestyle factors such as alcohol, smoking, and physical activity.
- Attend training, team meetings, and stakeholder events to promote the service and ensure quality standards are met.
Requirements:
- Educated to degree level or demonstrable relevant equivalent experience.
- CIMSPA (previously REPS) qualified Level 2 Gym instructor/Group exercise award or equivalent.
- Experience delivering groups and/or one‑to‑one behaviour change for adults.
- Experience delivering health promotion/public health interventions in community settings.
- Experience working with hard‑to‑reach groups and tackling health inequalities.
- Previous paid or voluntary experience working with people.
