Associate Partners – Strategem Finance (Scotland)

Strategem is launching Strategem Finance in Scotland. We are now looking to build a select network of high-calibre associates who want to help shape and grow this new offer from the outset. Strategem Finance is being developed to support businesses that need more than a funding product. Our focus is on helping clients access the right financial structure and funding conversations to support growth, acquisition, restructuring, working capital and change — delivered through Strategem’s relationship-led, commercially credible approach.

This is not a cold-start proposition. Strategem already has a longstanding reputation in Scotland as a trusted delivery partner with deep public and private sector relationships, an experienced associate base, and a clear platform for growth. The wider strategy is built around professionalising the associate model, activating finance opportunities, strengthening systems and CRM, and using group-backed capability to expand into new markets.

We are particularly interested in hearing from professionals in Scotland with experience in:

• commercial finance
• debt advisory
• SME lending and funding strategy
• banking or credit
• growth and acquisition finance
• refinancing, restructuring or working capital
• senior commercial advisory with strong introducer or client relationships

This is an opportunity to join at launch stage and help build a distinctive Scottish finance proposition under the Strategem brand. You may be an experienced broker, introducer, independent adviser, former banker or senior commercial professional with strong relationships in the SME market. What matters most is credibility, judgement, and the ability to build trust with business owners and leadership teams.

Strategem Finance is intended to sit within a broader growth platform: Strategem identifying finance needs, acting as a lead generator and relationship front-end, with specialist funding support and operational capability sitting behind the offer. That model is already reflected in the wider Strategem growth plan.

We are building a shared-fee associate model only. That means:

• opportunities originated and progressed through Strategem Finance
• fees agreed on a shared basis only
• clear commercial terms agreed up front
• a model designed for professionals who can generate, shape and help progress quality opportunities

This is not a salaried role, and it is not a day-rate consultancy arrangement. It is designed for commercially minded associates who want to work within a credible platform and share in the value of opportunities won and progressed.

Associates will benefit from a more structured and professionally supported environment than a typical loose referral arrangement. That includes support through:

• shared systems and CRM infrastructure
• clearer onboarding and associate arrangements
• operational and back-office coordination
• support with case shaping, lender positioning and deal progression
• access to experienced commercial finance capability behind the scenes
• the credibility of support delivered through an NACFB-member platform without needing to build that infrastructure alone

This reflects the wider Strategem plan, which explicitly links finance opportunity development to group capability, cross-referral pathways, systems, CRM, and back-office support.

We’d like to hear from people who:

• bring strong commercial judgement and professional credibility
• understand how funders think and how businesses need to present
• can build trusted relationships with SMEs, advisers and introducers

Experience of working in the commercial broker market, or alongside professionals operating to those standards, would be especially welcome.
