What we need: Stratasys (RPS in the UK) based in Aylesbury, UK, are seeking a Sr. Production Manager to lead the execution of the annual operations plan by managing all production, manufacturing engineering, and technical activity for the systems production.

In this role:

  • Responsibility will be defining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), improvement of processes, and troubleshooting issues in concert with quality assurance, global planning, and supply chain.
  • Will also require working globally with operations in other regions.

What you will be doing:

  • Build world-class processes, metrics, and reporting to improve efficiency and increase effectiveness for operations for assigned production lines.
  • Manage Production deliverables of the product development processes to include all phases of in-house and/or outsourced manufacturing of high-level sub-assemblies and integration.
  • Manage workflow, people, processes, and resources for production and materials from floor to warehouse to meet established schedules.
  • Partner with other functions and departments to formulate objectives and understand requirements of our customers.
  • Foster good communication and teamwork within the operations team and with other Stratasys departments to meet and execute annual and 3-year strategy.
  • Formulate and execute quarterly and annual production plans to improve processes, reduce costs, and increase yields.
  • Support and implement alternate methods designed for improvement of work standards, quality, and lead time reduction through 5S systems.

Manufacturing Engineering:

  • Oversee the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing methods.
  • Develop systems to maintain reporting and record keeping of product line performance.
  • Lead the operations engineers through the implementation of turnkey engineering activities for 3D printer assemblies/subassemblies both locally and globally.
  • Continuously improve product quality, productivity, process efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Partner with the quality team to define and monitor process equipment calibration.
  • Partner with Business Unit to plan transition of NPI to operations.
  • Define and ensure compliance to quality standards through FAI processes.
  • Support the development of a Statement of Work (SOW) for Turnkey suppliers.
  • Contribute to the selection and development of sub-contractors to reduce cost, improve quality, and effectively transfer assembly lines, subassemblies, and mechanical/electro-mechanical parts.

Management:

  • Manage labor planning, budget, and capacity requirements; foster good communication with cross-functional teams including production, quality, supply chain, and sourcing based on production scheduling.
  • Provide direction on facility budget and adherence to workplace policies.
  • Serve as company liaison with contracts and administrative direction.
  • Ensure that all Stratasys standards and practices are followed.
  • Manage multiple projects as top site manager.
  • Foster good communication and teamwork within the plant environment to meet and execute on schedules.
  • Ensure manufacturing procedures are followed and quality standards are maintained through leadership of supervisors and leads.
  • Provide input into production forecasting.
  • Support and champion continuous improvement to maintain a safe work environment and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Stratasys Core Values by leading, acting, and behaving in a manner consistent with these values.
  • Provide leadership of supervisors and teams to include coaching and developing.
  • Create and manage annual capital and expense budget.
  • Provide work direction to the organization, communicate company expectation metrics, and manage performance and improvement activities.
  • Participate in development and implement operations workplace policies.
  • Ensure procedures are followed and quality standards are maintained.
  • Ensure a robust integration and change management process is in place to lead the team.

Must have for this role:

Education & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Engineering.

Experience Preferred:

  • 10+ years leading an engineering or production operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • 10+ years of experience in a complex high technology hardware and software-based production environment.
  • 5+ years of experience managing a team in engineering and production.
  • Six sigma green or black belt including statistical analysis, quantitative and analytical problem-solving ability.
  • Demonstrated experience working in global, cross-functional teams.
