About The Opportunity
Are you passionate about additive manufacturing and excited to work at the cutting edge of 3D printing innovation? This summer internship offers a hands-on opportunity to work across R&D, materials development, metrology testing, and customer-facing applications engineering within Stratasys' SAF (Selective Absorption Fusion) technology team. You'll join a collaborative, fast-paced environment where interns contribute to real projects, work alongside experienced engineers and scientists, and gain exposure to both laboratory and application-driven engineering work.
What You'll Do
- Research & Process Development: Conduct small-scale experimental investigations into polymeric powders to support materials development. Support the process engineering team in refining and optimizing additive manufacturing processes.
- Materials Optimization & Metrology Testing: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve powder performance and overall print process efficiency. Perform mechanical testing and geometric analysis on polymer specimens produced using SAF technology.
- Applications & Benchmarking Support: Produce benchmark parts and generate technical data to support pre-sales and customer applications. Carry out post-processing operations and support material and process experiments across SAF Powder Bed Fusion technology.
Required Qualifications
- Strong interest in additive manufacturing technologies.
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for scientific problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and adapt in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Previous laboratory experience, including independent use of equipment.
- Commitment to health, safety, and operating procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently studying toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Completion of Year 2 of studies by Summer 2026.
