Our Stereolithography development and production site in Aylesbury is seeking a Summer Intern to join the Application Engineering team. Application Engineers act as the bridge between the technology and its real-world use. In this role, you’ll support the team with research and testing enabling us to push the limits of both our hardware and materials. You’ll gain hands‑on experience working on real engineering challenges in a collaborative environment.

Position Type: Paid Student Internship
Duration: ~3 months (flexible start/end dates)

Responsibilities & Tasks

You will support team projects and/or may take ownership of individual projects. Typical activities may include:

  • Testing and investigating how resins behave during and post printing (curing, shrinkage, viscosity)
  • Matching materials to applications (e.g., dental, automotive, medical devices)
  • Identify industries where SLA resins can replace traditional materials
  • Test printed parts performance against traditional manufacturing techniques (e.g. vs injection molding or machining)
  • Thermal and chemical resistance testing

This role offers variety, and you may be asked to support additional tasks as needed.

About You

  • Currently studying an undergraduate degree in design, engineering or related discipline.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Curious, proactive, and eager to learn
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Practical, hands‑on approach to problem‑solving
  • Comfortable working with solvents & chemicals in a safe and manageable environment
