Our team is seeking a Windows Server Administrator with demonstrated experience conducting Windows maintenance and administration tasks on a complex enterprise-scale network. The Windows Server Administrator position requires on-site support at the Norfolk Naval Station; remote work is not available.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical support, configuration, operations, security, availability, backup, and updates for web servers, developer and analyst workstations, and their associated images.
  • Manage the hardware, software, security, and backups of the web servers upon which the Customer websites are made accessible to users.
  • Coordinate with the Database Administrator (DBA), manage the hardware, software, security, and backups of the database servers upon which the Customer Oracle databases reside.
  • Manage the software configuration of Customer workstations to include patch management, software installations, STIG compliance, image management, and performance upgrades.
  • Coordinate with offsite partners to establish and maintain back-up servers at an offsite location to include ensuring that the back-up servers, database servers, and customer workstation images are up to date with current configurations and compliant with all STIGs.
  • Develop a disaster recovery plan to ensure that Customer web sites, databases, and workstations are continuously available with minimal to no interruption and maximum transparency to users. Propose plan to government for implementation.
  • Provide the government with recommendations regarding hardware and software solutions to meet changing requirements and ensure the Customer web servers, database servers, and workstations are equipped with the most up to date and relevant tools.
  • Configure and manage Customer assets related to training missions including simulators and any additional hardware required to be used by the Customer in completion of its mission.

Required Skills

  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • 3+ years’ Systems administration experience including management of web and database servers.
  • 3+ years’ experience in VMWare or similar virtualization tools.
  • 3+ years’ experience managing workstation configurations.
  • Past performance preferred in administration of Oracle servers.
  • Strong experience in automated systems management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of backup and recuperation procedures.

Education and Certification Requirements

  • Security+ CE.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s in Systems Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field experience.
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert: Core Infrastructure or equivalent.
  • VMWare certified professional.

The final starting salary will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including the selected candidate's qualifications, skills, relevant experience, education, certifications, and work location (where applicable), as well as internal equity and market considerations.
