Strata is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their expanding team and work across a broad range of events within the pharmaceutical sector. This pivotal role requires significant experience delivering events globally and confidently leading multiple parties through the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will steer the project team, ensuring seamless delivery of allocated events on time and on budget. Experience managing congresses, pharma standalone meetings, ad boards and product launches is essential. Travel within Europe is required, averaging 1-2 times per month.

Job Requirements

  • Lead by example, delivering exceptional level of delivery and demanding same from all project team members.
  • Act as the first point of contact on a project‑by‑project basis for both client and delegates.
  • Efficiently and successfully organise and coordinate all logistics elements and oversee registration, travel and accommodation requirements.
  • Manage events ranging from 10 to 1000+ attendees.
  • Manage multiple complex projects up to 1000+ attendees with ancillary meetings/dinners.
  • Multitask and prioritize to manage all client and internal expectations in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong client relationship management and ability to challenge and suggest alternatives where necessary.
  • Create and manage a granular project planner detailing milestones and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Manage a team of colleagues to ensure clear roles and responsibilities, delivering seamlessly at all levels.
  • Chair conference calls with client agencies, ensuring sessions are productive and actions are clear.
  • Confidently negotiate with suppliers achieving SLAs for savings and favourable terms.
  • Strong global venue knowledge, oversee venue searches, make recommendations and lead client site visits.
  • Ongoing liaison, communication and supplier management, ensuring arrangements are delivered at an exceptional level.
  • Supervise resources to ensure scope is managed and projects delivered to maximise margins.
  • Prepare and manage large, complex budgets in multiple currencies, ensuring 100% accuracy.
  • Justify management fees for projects in line with corporate commercial objectives.
  • Lead onsite team, ensuring delivery is seamless and exceeds client expectations.
  • Facilitate development of an event app, ensuring quality content and utilisation throughout the event.
  • Attend client offices in Marlow as required.
  • Produce creative proposals for new business opportunities and participate in pitches.
  • Facilitate post‑event debriefs for internal and client use, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Reconcile all events within agreed timelines, supplying required paperwork.
  • Serve as gatekeeper for compliance, ensuring standards met within guidelines.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members.
  • Maintain key hotel and destination supplier relationships.
  • Review, monitor and action all event related documentation (health and safety, crisis plans, manuals, minute‑by‑minute schedules).
