Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to manage the day-to-day delivery of Strata’s government-focused accounts. This is a senior project delivery role within the account team, supporting the Project Director and Account Director while leading the practical planning and delivery of complex events. The role will suit a highly organised, compliance-minded and commercially aware project leader with government event experience. You will help build new accounts from the ground up, supporting client onboarding, creating project processes, shaping documentation and embedding strong ways of working. Projects are likely to include government summits, international exhibitions, stakeholder events, virtual events and hybrid programmes requiring robust project management, careful supplier coordination and confident client communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Delivery Leadership: Lead the end-to-end delivery of allocated government projects from brief, onboarding and planning through to live delivery, reconciliation and closure. Translate client objectives into clear project plans, timelines and key deliverables. Prepare and maintain project documentation, including project handbooks, client kick-off materials, project folders, status reports, contact reports and onsite schedules. Ensure delivery remains on time, on budget, compliant and aligned to agreed client ways of working.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management: Act as the main day-to-day delivery contact for allocated projects, ensuring client questions and requests are acknowledged and managed in line with agreed SLAs. Support the Project Director and Account Director with client onboarding, stakeholder maps, reporting cadence and account process playbooks. Lead client meetings, manage agendas, capture actions and ensure clear follow-up within agreed timeframes. Build trusted relationships with government stakeholders through proactive communication, accuracy, transparency and calm issue resolution.
  • Compliance, Risk & Quality Control: Maintain project risk registers, contingency plans and compliance trackers, escalating risks and decisions quickly and appropriately. Coordinate production of RAMS/Event Safety Plans, accessibility considerations, sustainability actions and supplier compliance documentation. Apply Strata’s quality assurance and sign-off processes, ensuring all client deliverables meet company standards, client brand guidelines and approved scope. Support post-event reporting, lessons learned and performance reviews, including Value for Money evidence and success measurement.
  • Budget, Resource & Supplier Management: Create and manage itemised project budgets, POs, change requests, budget trackers, reconciliations and value-for-money documentation. Prepare supplier briefs, source quotes, manage supplier meetings and ensure third-party delivery is documented and controlled. Monitor timesheets, internal spend, freelance costs and supplier commitments to ensure financial accuracy and margin protection.
  • Team & Internal Collaboration: Coordinate internal delivery teams across creative, production, technical, content, digital, logistics, and supplier management workstreams. Set up and lead regular internal check-ins, project comms channels and action tracking to maintain momentum and accountability. Mentor Project Coordinators and junior team members, helping them develop strong project administration, compliance and client service skills.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following experience and attributes:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager within an events, experiential, production or creative agency environment, with demonstrable government or public sector event experience. Government experience is essential.
  • Strong end-to-end project management experience across live, hybrid and virtual events, ideally including government summits, international exhibitions, stakeholder events or large-scale conferences.
  • Confident managing compliance-heavy projects with requirements across health and safety, risk, GDPR/data security, accessibility, sustainability and supplier assurance.
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills and the ability to manage complex stakeholders with professionalism and confidence.
  • Strong budget management skills, including cost tracking, POs, margin awareness, supplier negotiation, change control and reconciliation.
  • Experience developing project plans, process documents, client reports, status updates, risk registers, timelines and meeting records.
  • Highly organised, detail-focused and able to manage multiple project workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative leadership style, with experience working closely with HODs, Account Directors, suppliers, freelancers and internal delivery teams.
  • Knowledge of project management tools and ways of working, including Teams, SharePoint and budget management systems.
  • An ability and willingness to travel in the UK and internationally as required.

  • 25 days annual leave, plus usual Bank Holidays
  • Birthday day off
  • Private Health Insurance*
  • Workplace pension scheme
  • Death in service scheme
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Hybrid working arrangement
  • Regular social events

*Upon successful completion of a 6-month probation period
