The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting the full employee lifecycle and ensures smooth day-to-day HR Operations. Acting as a trusted partner across Strata Group, this role provides expert guidance on HR policies, employee relations, performance management and HR Administration, and driving consistent HR best practice across the organisation. The ideal candidate is proactive, organised, solutions focused, able to build strong relationships across the organisation, and be confident advising on complex HR issues.
Job Requirements
- Employee Relations: Provide consistent advice to managers on employee relations matters including performance, conduct, sickness, capability, and grievances. Lead or support investigations and formal meetings, ensuring legal and policy compliance. Compliance management during formal meetings including note taking, preparations for meetings (including disciplinary, capability and grievance meetings) and ensuring all documentation relating to such meetings is clear, correct and secured appropriately. Coach and upskill managers to handle people matters effectively and confidently. Escalate complex issues to the Head of HR as required.
- HR Policy & Compliance: Interpret and apply HR policies, offering clear guidance to employees and managers. Support policy updates and organisation wide communication. Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal procedures. Assist with preparing reports for audits, risk assessments, and regulatory requirements.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Support hiring/line managers with identifying future resource needs. Manage and coordinate onboarding activities to deliver a structured, engaging new starter experience.
- Performance & Development: Support performance management processes, probation reviews, and developments plans. Manage and report on the company wide 121 process, identifying trends or challenges. Identify training needs and coordinate learning activities. Promote continuous feedback, professional growth and development culture. Support talent identification, skills gaps, training needs and capability-building initiatives within business areas.
- HR Operations & Data: Maintain accurate HRIS records and employee data. Prepare accurate HR metrics and reports (e.g. headcount, turnover, absence) for managers and leadership teams. Contribute to improving HR processes, documentation, and workflows. Ensure consistent policy application across the organisation. Support policy updates, communication and embedding of best practice. Support wellbeing initiatives and engagement programmes. Support in analysing engagement data and developing action plans with managers. Lead social committee and manage wellbeing and social events calendar.
About you
- You will have previous experience working as an HR Generalist with advisory responsibilities in a fast-paced business environment, ideally within the events industry.
- The ability to manage employee relations cases from informal resolution to formal processes.
- A strong working knowledge of UK employment law.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills, great time management and the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
- Experience using HR systems and Microsoft Office.
- Involvement in HR projects or change programmes.
- Professional, approachable, and credible.
- Confident in challenging situations and able to influence managers effectively.
- Problem-solver with a practical and proactive mindset.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Discreet with sensitive information and committed to maintaining confidentiality.
