Job Overview: To plan, co‑ordinate and deliver technical facilities for live, virtual and hybrid event projects during pre‑production, production and post‑production, including conferences, meetings, launches, webcasts, roadshows, exhibitions, brand activations and stakeholder events. Projects are delivered globally and across the UK – travel is part of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of technical collateral for pitches/proposals and specification of technical solutions for new projects.
- Liaison with client services and production teams to ensure cohesion.
- Technical specification of appropriate staging, technology, and digital solutions for projects.
- Budget management for technical production costs using Procim system.
- Supplier liaison, negotiation and management to ensure efficiency, quality, value and cohesion within the production.
- Crew liaison and management, including logistics.
- Management of project CAD plan.
- Venue liaison – technical facilities.
- Preparation of technical production schedules.
- Health & Safety and CDM preparation – RAMS.
- Advise producers on show software and virtual platforms with technical implications.
- Ensure quality management of the project – ISO 9001.
- On‑site technical management to ensure smooth, timely, high quality event delivery.
- Ensure projects are reconciled and information is passed to accounts in a timely fashion.
- Contribute to debriefs for review and continual improvement.
- Remain up to date with new technology, staging design trends, and their business applications.
- Remain up to date with Health & Safety practice and legislation.
- Remain up to date with the internal equipment inventory and facilities.
Required Experience:
- Background in event technical/audio‑visual/staging services.
- Possibly a project manager in an AV/hire or staging company looking to grow into a production management role.
- Leadership and motivational skills, particularly on site.
- Ability to work and sustain performance under pressure.
- Strong IT skills, including Office and basic CAD/Vectorworks.
- Strong working knowledge of video, sound, lighting, electrics, rigging and staging.
Additional Criteria:
- Health & Safety qualification – training provided if not held.
- Working knowledge of current Health & Safety/CDM regulations and implications.
- First Aid qualification – training provided if not held.
- Full, clean driving licence.
- Valid passport.
