An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Engineer to join a well‑established and highly respected housebuilder. Working within the Design & Technical team, you will play a key role in delivering civil engineering packages across a range of residential developments. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to take ownership of infrastructure design, technical approvals and engineering delivery from planning through to completion.

The Role

As Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering all aspects of civil engineering design and approvals across multiple residential developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with site appraisals and technical due diligence.
  • Develop road and sewer designs and liaise with approval bodies.
  • Prepare and coordinate Section 38, Section 104 and Section 278 submissions.
  • Coordinate external levels and private drainage designs.
  • Manage foundation design consultants and resolve foundation‑related issues.
  • Obtain technical approvals from local authorities and statutory bodies.
  • Support the discharge of planning and engineering conditions.
  • Complete adoption agreements and arrange bond releases.
  • Provide advice on SuDS, contamination, value engineering and infrastructure solutions.
  • Assemble and deliver complete civil engineering packages for residential developments.

Requirements

  • Experience working for a UK housebuilder or civil engineering consultancy.
  • HNC in Civil Engineering or similar qualification.
  • Strong understanding of residential infrastructure design.
  • Extensive knowledge of:
    • Section 38 Agreements
    • Section 104 Agreements
    • Section 278 Agreements
    • Highway Design Standards
    • Sewers for Adoption
    • Building Regulations Part H
    • BS8301

Software Experience

  • AutoCAD
  • PDS
  • MicroDrainage (or equivalent drainage design software)

Skills

  • Strong technical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
