Our client is an established and growing engineering consultancy seeking an experienced

Associate Civil Engineer to join their Manchester team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior civil engineering professional looking to take on a leadership role within a forward-thinking consultancy, delivering a broad range of development and infrastructure projects across the UK.

Opportunity

As Associate Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in the management and delivery of civil engineering projects while helping to drive the continued growth of the business.

You will work closely with senior management, clients, and project teams, providing technical leadership and commercial oversight across a diverse portfolio of schemes.

This position offers the opportunity to influence business strategy, develop client relationships, and mentor the next generation of engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of civil engineering projects from concept through to construction.
  • Manage highways, drainage, and infrastructure design schemes across multiple sectors.
  • Undertake technical reviews and ensure the highest standards of quality and compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, local authorities, and key stakeholders.
  • Manage project programmes, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Support business development activities, including proposal preparation and client engagement.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians.
  • Contribute to the strategic growth and success of the business.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards chartership.
  • Strong consultancy experience within the UK development sector.
  • Proven experience in highways, drainage, and infrastructure design.
  • Proficiency with Civil 3D, Auto CAD, and Micro Drainage/Info Drainage.
  • Strong project management and commercial awareness.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and multiple project workloads.
