Our client, a leading UK residential developer, is seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Engineer to join their established Manchester-based team. This is a key position supporting the delivery of high-quality residential developments, offering the opportunity to play a pivotal role from early-stage design through to project completion.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage engineering design across multiple residential developments
- Liaise with local authorities, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with current regulations
- Oversee site investigations and manage infrastructure design including roads, drainage and utilities
- Review and approve technical drawings, specifications and supporting documentation
- Provide technical input to land acquisition, planning and construction teams
- Manage external consultants and ensure delivery to programme and budget
- Identify project risks and implement practical, cost-effective engineering solutions
- Oversee adoption processes including S38, S104 and S278 agreements
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Chartered, or actively working towards Chartership (ICE or similar)
- Proven experience within housebuilding or engineering consultancy
- Strong understanding of residential infrastructure design and UK planning processes
- Experience managing consultants and coordinating multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects within a fast-paced environment
