Overview
In this client-facing role, you will lead civil drainage projects across a range of sectors in the Bristol region. You’ll own design and delivery, from feasibility to final engineering, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with architects, developers, and contractors. Responsibilities
- Manage and design projects from small to large scale within time and budget constraints
- Assess site due diligence, preliminary layout, and deliver final engineering design
- Study drawings, plans, specifications and related documents
- Determine budget, schedules, and scope; deploy staff accordingly
- Lead and support engineering and skilled personnel across multiple tasks
- Direct onsite construction teams and collaborate with architects and external consultants
- Promote standard civil engineering practices in drawings and plans
- Design to relevant UK standards and guides
Key requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related subject
- 5+ years UK experience in infrastructure drainage
- Competence with AutoCAD, PDS or Civil3D and Microdrainage/FLOW
- Experience in Flood Risk Assessments
- S278/S38 highway design experience
- Experience in private and adoptable drainage design
- Earthworks and external level design including 3D analysis
- Knowledge of current legislation and QA/H&S procedures
