We are working with a well known client who is expanding its Ground Engineering capability, and we’re looking for a motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join their Nottingham office. This is a great opportunity to work within a collaborative consultancy environment where your technical insight and problem‑solving skills will help shape high‑quality, sustainable developments across the UK.
About You’ll support and deliver geotechnical input across a diverse portfolio of projects, including residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure schemes. Working closely with our civil and structural teams, you’ll contribute to ground investigation design, geotechnical analysis, and the development of practical, buildable solutions.
The role:
- Designing and managing ground investigations, including specification, procurement, and supervision
- Interpreting ground investigation data and preparing factual and interpretative reports
- Undertaking geotechnical analysis such as foundation design, slope stability, earthworks, retaining structures, and ground improvement
- Working with software such as GeoStudio, SLOPE/W, WALLAP, or similar tools
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and regulators to support project delivery
- Contributing to multidisciplinary design teams and supporting junior staff where appropriate

- Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline
- Experience in a consultancy or contracting environment (open to a range of experience levels)
- Strong understanding of UK ground conditions, geotechnical design principles, and relevant standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Progress toward professional accreditation (IEng/CEng/Chartered Geologist) is advantageous
