A well-established, family-run residential housebuilder is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join its South Midlands regional team. This is a key leadership role, responsible for maintaining high technical standards across residential developments while managing and mentoring a team of engineers. The Role
- Prepare viability and detailed engineering designs to resolve site constraints
- Deliver S38 and S104 designs to adoptable standards, supporting commercial tendering
- Coordinate with environmental and geotechnical consultants on foundations and contamination solutions
- Advise on SuDS, value engineering, and housing layout optimisation
- Assist with site appraisals and early-stage technical input
- Liaise with approving bodies to agree roads and sewer designs
- Prepare and coordinate external levels and private drainage drawings
- Brief and manage foundation design consultants
- Assemble and deliver full civil engineering design packages
- Support the discharge of engineering and planning conditions
- Attend internal and external technical meetings
- Manage, mentor and lead a team of engineers
About You
- Previous experience with a housebuilder or consultancy in a similar role
- HNC / HND qualified (or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of planning policy and approval processes
- Knowledge of local authority, highway and water authority standards
- Confident using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop engineering teams
- Organised, proactive, and commercially aware
- Strong communication and time-management skills
