We are working with a well known residential developer, known for building high‑quality homes and sustainable communities. As they continue to grow across the East Midlands region, their Northampton division is looking for a skilled and motivated Engineer to join the Technical/Engineering team.
The Role
As an Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of their residential developments from land acquisition through to site completion. This includes working closely with internal departments, external consultants and on‑site teams to ensure engineering designs are accurate, compliant and cost‑effective.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and coordinate technical engineering designs and drawings.
- Assist with infrastructure, drainage, highway, and foundation design reviews.
- Manage technical information flow between consultants, contractors, and the wider team.
- Provide engineering support to site teams to resolve technical issues as they arise.
- Ensure all engineering work complies with relevant regulations, standards, and NHBC requirements.
- Support feasibility studies, land assessments, and planning submissions.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure timely distribution of technical information.
About you

Essential skills & experience
- Previous engineering experience within housebuilding, civil engineering, or construction.
- Strong understanding of residential infrastructure design (roads, sewers, levels, drainage).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering reports.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency with design and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD).
- Relevant industry qualifications (HNC, HND, Civil Engineering degree or similar).
Desirable
- Experience working with local authorities, utilities providers and NHBC.
- Knowledge of SuDS, Section 38/104/278 processes and adoption standards.
