We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our clients team on a contract basis to support a range of infrastructure and construction projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in planning, design and on‑site coordination, ensuring all works meet technical, safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review civil engineering designs, drawings and specifications
  • Provide technical oversight on construction activities and site operations
  • Conduct site inspections, surveys and progress assessments
  • Prepare reports, calculations and compliance documentation
  • Liaise with contractors, clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets and quality requirements
  • Assist with risk assessments, method statements and H&S compliance

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in infrastructure, highways, drainage, structures, or similar civil engineering projects
  • Strong understanding of relevant UK industry standards, legislation, and regulations
  • Proficiency with civil engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage)
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and stakeholder‑management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively

Desirable Qualifications

  • Chartered or working toward Chartered status (ICE or similar)
  • Experience with contract administration (e.g., NEC, JCT)
  • Previous local authority or consultancy experience
