An established and growing Civil & Structural Engineering consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Associate Civil Engineer / Team Leader to lead and grow its infrastructure team in Newcastle. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level Civil Engineer looking to take ownership of project delivery, mentor engineers and play a key role in the continued expansion of a successful North East consultancy.
The role will involve leading a wide range of development infrastructure projects across residential, commercial, industrial and mixed-use sectors, managing schemes from initial feasibility through to detailed design and technical approvals.
The Role
- Lead the delivery of infrastructure and development projects
- Manage and mentor a team of Civil Engineers and Technicians
- Deliver highways, drainage and earthworks design packages
- Oversee Flood Risk Assessments and SuDS strategies
- Coordinate with clients, architects, local authorities and external consultants
- Support business development and client relationship management
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high technical standard
Requirements
- Strong UK consultancy experience within development infrastructure
- Proven background delivering highways and drainage schemes
- Experience managing teams and leading projects
- Strong technical knowledge of S38, S278 and S104 approvals
- Proficient with Civil 3D and drainage software
- Confident client-facing and leadership skills
- Chartered or working towards Chartership preferred
