We’re looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our client’s growing team in Liverpool, leading the design and delivery of high-quality residential and commercial projects. The role:

  • Lead a diverse portfolio of projects, delivering excellence across all stages and outputs.
  • Manage UK-based projects across industrial, residential, retail, commercial, and healthcare sectors, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to develop coordinated design solutions that meet client objectives and project goals.
  • Drive successful project delivery within agreed timescales and budgets, maintaining our reputation for quality and reliability.
  • Undertake structural assessments and inspections of new and existing properties, applying expertise in steel, concrete, masonry, and timber to resolve complex engineering challenges.
  • Carry out structural analysis and design using industry-standard software (e.g., Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds), ensuring accuracy and consistency in technical outputs including drawings and reports.
  • Prepare clear, high-quality documentation such as structural survey reports that demonstrate precision and professionalism.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and contributing to the development of the wider team.

What you need to succeed:

  • Proven ability to lead projects independently from concept through to construction.
  • Strong technical background in both new build and refurbishment structures.
  • Experience with a range of materials including concrete, steel, timber, and masonry.
  • Ability to mentor and support junior engineers and technicians.
  • A proactive, hands‑on approach and a genuine interest in high-quality structural design.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience liaising with clients, architects, and contractors.
  • Competence in structural design software (e.g. Tekla, TEDDS, ETABS, or similar).
  • Ideally Chartered with IStructE or ICE, or nearing chartership with demonstrable progress.
  • MEng or BEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
