We are working in partnership with a respected multidisciplinary civil and structural engineering consultancy with a strong presence across the Midlands and wider UK. Known for delivering practical, sustainable and technically robust design solutions, our client is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join its Leicester office.
About the role
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will lead a range of building and structural engineering projects. The role combines hands-on technical work with project leadership, client coordination and mentoring responsibilities. You will help shape high-quality engineering outcomes and play an important part in the continued development of the Leicester team.
Responsibilities
- Leading structural design across steel, concrete, timber and masonry
- Managing projects from concept through to detailed design and construction
- Providing technical leadership and mentoring to junior staff
- Preparing and reviewing calculations, drawings, specifications and reports
- Attending site visits, inspections and client/design team meetings
- Supporting fee proposals, bids and business development when needed
About you
- Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Chartered or near-chartered with IStructE or ICE
- Strong design experience across multiple sectors
- Competent in structural analysis software such as Tekla Structural Designer, SCIA, TEDDS or similar
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Proven ability to manage projects independently and work collaboratively
Desirable
- Multidisciplinary consultancy experience
- Familiarity with BIM workflows and coordination
- Experience mentoring junior engineers
