Strata have been recently instructed by one of our clients in the Central Leeds area to headhunt an experienced Civil Engineer or Senior for their busy office. The right candidate will be experienced in a variety of infrastructure projects from initial conception right through to hand over. You will be client focused to ensure they have a positive experience whilst meeting the demands of the project.
A good working knowledge of residential, light and heavy commercial and industrial projects is a must to be successful in this role. You’ll be joining a great design consultancy who deliver projects from initial feasibility stage, through planning and detail design and to construction stage.
The role:
- Good design experience with road and sewer design to adoptable standards.
- A working knowledge of surface water/foul water underground drainage design.
- Flood risk assessments / flood alleviation schemes.
- Coastal erosion flood breach analysis.
- SUDS/swales/soakaway design/infiltration basins.
- Section agreement knowledge: 38, 104 & 278 agreements.
- Competence with Site3D or Civil 3D/Microdrainage.
What you need to succeed:
- The drive to learn and develop themselves, working alongside others within a team is essential and the candidate should possess excellent communication skills.
- A sound technical ability and understanding of relevant documents such as Sewer Sector Guidance, Building Regulations, DMRB and Ciria C753.
- Experience in working for a consultancy on development schemes, particularly residential would be favourable.
- Ability to use MicroDrainage/Flow and AutoCad at an advanced level is essential, and an understanding of Civils 3D/Site 3D would be beneficial.
- Experience in pre-planning and planning stage projects as well as a good understanding of detail design and technical approval (S104, S38, S278, etc) is required.
