An award-winning international engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Highway / Infrastructure Design Engineer to join its growing Manchester team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a wide variety of high-profile highway, active travel and infrastructure projects across the UK, within a highly respected consultancy known for delivering innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.

The role will suit an Engineer with experience delivering highways and infrastructure design projects who is looking to further develop their technical expertise and progress their career within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.

The Role
  • Deliver highway and infrastructure design projects from concept through to detailed design
  • Prepare highways, active travel and drainage designs
  • Work on Section 278, Section 38 and associated technical approvals
  • Produce detailed drainage layouts, profiles and technical drawings
  • Coordinate with clients, local authorities and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Contribute to road safety, transport and infrastructure projects
  • Support project delivery to agreed timescales and budgets
Experience Required
  • UK highways and infrastructure design experience
  • Knowledge of Section 278 / Section 38 approvals and drainage agreements
  • Experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and associated software
  • Understanding of DMRB, Manual for Streets and relevant design standards
  • Strong communication and technical coordination skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Membership of CIHT, ICE or similar professional body advantageous
