We are looking for a Senior Transport Planner to join our clients busy Transport team in Surrey. You’ll be joining an award-winning consultancy who are specialists in the Transport sector and work across all sectors, including residential, retail, leisure, office, distribution and industrial projects, education and healthcare, and mixed-use schemes.
You’ll be joining a team of Planners who are experts at demonstrating the transport implications of development and their involvement at appeal, providing their clients with the highest level of credibility in demonstrating transport planning matters in respect to policy, assessment, technical guidance, directions and practical matters of project deliverability. They provide transport planning, highway design, flood risk and drainage input at all stages of the development process; from feasibility, through the planning application process and then to detailed design.

The role:
- Prepare and review Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, and supporting technical notes
- Lead stakeholder engagement, including liaison with local authorities, statutory bodies and design team
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality assurance, and company procedures
- Undertake and oversee transport modelling, forecasting, and data analysis using industry-standard tools
- Interpret national, regional, and local transport policy and apply it effectively to development proposals
What you need to succeed:
- Minimum 5 years relevant Transport Planning experience
- An accredited Degree in an applicable analytical subject – for example Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering, Mathematics etc
- An understanding/experience of the UK planning process
- Sets and achieves high standard of work with a particular focus on details, accuracy and quality of own work
- Meets the given brief with well-presented information, completed to agreed timescales
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to clearly communicate findings from complex data
- Approachable and professional manner when dealing with colleagues and clients
- Computer literate with advanced use of Microsoft Office
- Good levels of numeracy, including a good understanding of spreadsheets
- Understanding of the use of AutoCAD
- Understanding of GIS software
