We’re looking for an experienced Engineer to join our clients busy Technical Department.
In this key role, you will work as part of a collaborative Technical team, overseeing external Design and Engineering Consultants and supporting the project management and administration of all technical and design elements across a range of residential developments.
As an Engineer, you will help to drive the successful delivery of multiple housing projects by providing cost‑effective, practical engineering solutions.
We’re seeking someone adaptable, proactive, and confident in managing external consultants with a consistent and structured approach.
Responsibilities
- Support the preparation of layouts, working drawings and technical reports for Land Appraisals.
- Coordinate and commission site investigations, topographical surveys and other technical assessments for acquired land.
- Brief engineering consultants on design requirements: covering roads, sewers, private drainage, retaining walls, foundation design and all substructure elements below DPC, whether private or adopted.
- Liaise with statutory bodies and utility providers on environmental, drainage, highways and other engineering matters during land appraisal.
- Distribute engineering information to Commercial, Construction and Sales teams as required.
- Negotiate fees and appoint external consultants.
- Respond to technical queries promptly and effectively.
- Comply with the Group’s Health, Safety and Environment Policy.
- What We’re Looking For
- Ideally HNC-qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related building discipline, with experience in residential projects.
- Strong technical understanding of current Building Regulations, CDM requirements, and detailed knowledge of EA, Water Authority and Highway regulations and adoption processes.
- Excellent Auto CAD skills and the ability to communicate clearly with internal teams and external organisations.
- A motivated, enthusiastic, and hard‑working individual who is committed to ongoing training and development.
