In support of the growing workload within both the infrastructure engineering services our client has an opening for a Senior / Principal Drainage Engineer.
Their Land Development Team has an established track record delivering technically demanding projects in the Strategic Land, development, building and highway infrastructure sectors. This work ranges from complex residential led/Commercial mixed use masterplan redevelopments, through planned new communities to challenging Central London redevelopments.

The role
- Leading and providing technical support on the design, quality assurance and delivery of strategic flooding and below ground drainage and highway infrastructure related projects in support of the Land Development and Building Structures Teams
- Understanding, supporting and manging our clients’ needs with high quality, cost effective engineering solutions delivered to programme and budget
- Managing multiple concurrent work streams to deliver projects on programme and within budget
What you need to succeed
- A Consultancy or Development background with a balance of private and public sector work.
- You will contribute to the delivery of concept studies and strategies with hands on design, leading to planning applications or construction drawing issue.
- You will have proven experience and an interest in helping the junior members of the team in producing designs.
- The ability to produce masterplans, site appraisals, write reports to support planning applications, design calculations and construction drawings.
- Knowledge of and ability to deliver highway design, highway drainage principles (layout, parameters, etc.), surface water and foul drainage designs.
- Experienced in the use of MicroDrainage and Civils 3D modelling software together with experience in applying National Highway and Local Authority design guidance.
- The ability to work effectively with colleagues, including more senior and junior staff in producing designs, drawings and reports is essential.
- Good written and spoken communication skills and be able to work as part of a team.
- Sound knowledge of relevant design codes such as DMRB, Local Authority Highway and Water Authority Design Guides
- Experiencein the preparation of drawings for S104/S185/S106 Drainage Agreement as well as S38 and S278 Highway Agreements.
- A civil engineering degree and be approaching Chartered status with experience in highway and highway drainage design.
- You will have strong post graduate experience in a civil engineering working environment.
