We have a fantastic role with a dynamic, forward-thinking civil and structural engineering consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering practical, high-quality design solutions across residential, commercial, industrial and public-sector projects. As their workload continues to grow, they are looking to expand the team with an experienced Civil Engineer based in the Wellingborough office.
You will play a key part in the delivery of civil engineering design across a range of development infrastructure projects. Working within a supportive and collaborative team, you’ll help deliver schemes from feasibility through to detailed design and construction. This role is well suited to someone with solid grounding in civil design who is ready to take more responsibility, contribute to project leadership and engage directly with clients and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design and delivery of civil engineering elements including highways, drainage, levels and external works.
- Preparation of Flood Risk Assessments, SuDS strategies and drainage calculations.
- Production and review of engineering drawings, reports and technical documentation.
- Liaison with clients, local authorities, contractors and other design teams.
- Coordination of junior engineers and technicians where required.
- Contributing to project planning, fee proposals and progress reporting.
About
Essential:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in development infrastructure design (residential or commercial).
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software such as Civil 3D, MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, PDS or similar.
- Strong understanding of UK design standards, SuDS, adoptable drainage and Section 38/278/104 processes.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.
Desirable:
- Progress toward ICE/CIHT chartership.
- Experience preparing FRA and drainage strategy documents.
- Ability to manage small to medium-sized projects independently.
