This multi-disciplinary design consultancy is currently looking for a highly motivated Senior Civil Engineer to join their team in Manchester. You will join an ever-growing team, driving for success whilst working in coordination with the other Infrastructure Teams across the company. Our client’s portfolio mainly consists of large residential developers, complemented by industrial, commercial, and energy projects. Typical residential schemes range from 100 homes to several thousand units, covering Access, Drainage, Levels, and Earthworks design.

The role:
- Lead and manage multiple projects, overseeing design and day-to-day delivery.
- Mentor junior team members, delegate tasks, review outputs, and ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Review design packages and calculations, ensuring compliance with design standards and QA procedures.
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders, prepare fee proposals, manage project finances, and support business development.
- Developing concept and detailed drainage strategies.
- Creating levels strategies and earthworks appraisals.
- Preparing planning documents (e.g., Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Technical Notes, Utilities Statements).
- Conducting due diligence reviews for land acquisition.
- Producing detailed design and construction drawings.
- Securing technical approvals (S104, S38, S278, etc.).
What you need to succeed:
- A strong desire to learn and develop while contributing effectively within a team, alongside excellent communication skills.
- Solid technical knowledge and familiarity with documents such as Sewer Sector Guidance, Building Regulations, DMRB, and Ciria C753.
- Previous consultancy experience on development projects, particularly residential, is desirable.
- Advanced skills in MicroDrainage/Flow and AutoCAD are essential; knowledge of Civils 3D/Site 3D is advantageous.
- Experience across pre-planning and planning stages, with a sound understanding of detailed design and technical approvals (S104, S38, S278, etc.).
