Our client, is a dynamic and growing civil and environmental engineering consultancy specialising in water and environmental projects. With a collaborative team of engineers and scientists, they’re at the cutting edge of flood risk and water management in the built and natural environment.
They’re now looking for an experienced Flood Risk Engineer to join their talented team – either at Engineer or Senior Engineer level – to support exciting and meaningful projects across the UK.
What You’ll Do
As part of the Flood Risk Team, you’ll contribute to the delivery of high-quality solutions across a variety of sectors and scales. Your role will include:
- Delivering Flood Risk Assessments, Sustainable Drainage Strategies, river modelling, flood defence design and hydraulic modelling.
- Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and external stakeholders to design practical and sustainable solutions.
- Using tools like QGIS, AutoCAD, Flood Modeller, HEC-RAS and TUFLOW to assess and deliver impactful results.
- Preparing high-quality technical reports, drawings and documentation.
- (Senior level) Leading projects, managing clients and mentoring junior engineers.
- Working on a variety of related areas such as water neutrality, environmental permitting, nutrient neutrality assessments, and EIA support.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Degree in Civil, Environmental Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in flood risk or related consultancy work.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with hydraulic modelling and GIS software.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and report-writing skills.
Desirable:
- Postgraduate degree and/or working towards chartership (CIWEM or similar).
- Full UK driving licence for site visits.
- Experience with fee proposals and bid writing (beneficial for senior applicants).
