They have significant and proven expertise from pre-planning to detailed design for the residential and education markets, as well as heritage, healthcare, commercial, retail and leisure sectors.

The Role:

  • Lead the team to undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes.
  • Preparation of reports, e.g. Flood Risk and Drainage Assessments, Transport Assessments.
  • Preparation of technical specifications.
  • Civil engineering Masterplanning.
  • Civil engineering design development, e.g. roads, drainage, building regulations approvals, Sections 38 /104 /278.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely project delivery and target achievement.
  • Good experience of AutoCAD, Micro-drainage, Civils 3D, and BIM processes.
  • Provide engineering support to professional teams.
  • Ability to challenge designs and resolve problems to a conclusion.
  • Ensure quality control and question whether we can reduce the carbon footprint within our designs.
  • Attend design team meetings and site visits.

What you need to succeed:

  • Chartered, or currently approaching chartered status with the ICE.
  • Experience in leading a design team.
  • Previous experience in civil engineering, including SUDs design, from concept through to implementation.
  • Experience and knowledge within highways, public realm and the civil engineering industry.
  • Produce designs following CDM regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, independent working, presenting, and influencing skills.
  • Over 7 years’ experience in infrastructure engineering design.
