We are seeking an experienced Senior Drainage Engineer to join our client's expanding team. As a key member of the Environment Team, you will work towards chartered status and utilise your expertise in drainage design, flood risk assessment, and hydraulic modelling to deliver high-quality projects.
You will be joining a well-established consultancy formed in the 80s and has remained independent from the start. They work on a range of projects in size from small scale, one-off tasks, to large, multi-million-pound projects. They have particular expertise and experience in:
- infrastructure master planning
- 3D ground modelling
- public transport facilities
- highways
- engineering traffic management schemes
- pumping stations
- sewerage
- land drainage
- flood defences
- Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS)
- car parks
- utilities

The role:
- To conduct Flood Risk Assessments and design sustainable drainage systems
- To produce technical reports and contribute to Section 104 and 106 agreements
- To regularly prepare evidence for planning appeals and public enquiries
- To mentor junior staff and disseminate knowledge
- To collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and external authorities
What you need to succeed:
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Proficient in Micro Drainage, AutoCAD, PDS, HEC-RAS, and Flood Modeller Pro
- Strong understanding of current technical standards and guidance
- Experience with 1D and 2D hydraulic modelling & excellent report-writing and communication skills
