An established and highly respected civil and structural engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Temporary Works Engineer to join its growing Bristol office.

With multiple offices across the UK and an excellent reputation for delivering practical, buildable engineering solutions, this consultancy specialises in temporary works design across a diverse range of construction sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineer looking to take ownership of projects while working alongside a talented and supportive team.

Based in Bristol, you'll become part of a close-knit team delivering temporary works solutions for some of the region's most prestigious construction projects across central Bristol and Cardiff.

Working on behalf of leading contractors, you'll contribute to a varied portfolio of complex and technically challenging schemes, producing innovative engineering solutions from concept through to delivery.

Alongside hands-on design work, you'll have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, work closely with clients, undertake site visits and continue your professional development towards Chartership, supported by a business that actively invests in its people and encourages long-term career progression.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Civil or Structural Engineer with a strong design background and knowledge of temporary works within the UK construction industry.

What You Need To Succeed

Previous experience in a design-focused consultancy role within the UK construction industry.

Strong understanding of temporary works design and BS5975.

Proficient in Auto CAD, with the ability to produce and interpret engineering drawings.

Ability to prepare engineering calculations and develop practical, buildable design solutions.

Excellent communication skills with the confidence to liaise directly with clients and contractors.

Experience mentoring or supervising junior engineers would be advantageous.

Working towards, or already holding, Chartered status with ICE or IStruct E would be desirable.

A strong academic background with a BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering
