We are hiring a Principal Structural Engineer for an independent civil and structural engineering consultancy based in Surbiton. Our client is renowned for delivering innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective design solutions across the power and energy sectors. We’re looking for a talented Principal Structural Engineer to join their growing Surbiton team and play a pivotal role in shaping their growing portfolio of power and energy projects.
As a Principal Structural Engineer, you’ll be part of a close-knit, multidisciplinary team that thrives on collaboration and technical excellence. You’ll lead the structural design and delivery of major projects within power, energy renewables - working with top-tier clients and tier one contractors. What You Need To Succeed
- Proven background in structural design of projects within the power, energy and/or renewables sectors.
- Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and coordinate across civil and structural interfaces.
- Excellent knowledge of Eurocodes, structural analysis, and design software (e.g. Tekla, MIDAS, STAAD, etc.).
- Strong communication and client-facing skills, with experience preparing and presenting technical reports.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and support junior engineers and technicians.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery within consultancy environments.
- Chartered (MIStructE/MICE) or near-chartered status with strong design and project leadership experience.
- MEng or BEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
