An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Site Manager to join a major residential-led development project in Bedfordshire. Working as part of the infrastructure delivery team, you will be responsible for overseeing key infrastructure packages that support the wider development, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme and quality requirements. This role offers the opportunity to work on a long-term strategic development and play a key role in delivering the infrastructure that will support future residential and mixed-use phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Delivery
    • Oversee day-to-day infrastructure construction activities.
    • Monitor contractor performance, quality and programme compliance.
    • Coordinate highways, drainage, utilities and enabling works packages.
    • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with approved designs and specifications.
    • Review construction methodologies and contractor submissions.
  • Technical Coordination
    • Work closely with engineering consultants and project teams.
    • Review engineering drawings and identify buildability considerations.
    • Coordinate infrastructure interfaces across multiple workstreams.
    • Support technical approvals and adoption processes.
  • Contractor Management
    • Manage contractor performance on-site.
    • Monitor health and safety compliance.
    • Review RAMS and site documentation.
    • Support quality assurance inspections and handovers.
  • Stakeholder Liaison
    • Liaise with local authorities and statutory undertakers.
    • Attend progress meetings and provide project updates.
    • Coordinate activities with consultants, contractors and development partners.

Requirements

  • Essential
    • Previous Civil Engineering / Infrastructure experience.
    • Experience managing contractors on-site.
    • Strong understanding of highways, drainage and utility infrastructure.
    • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
    • SMSTS.
    • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Desirable
    • Experience working on large residential developments.
    • Knowledge of infrastructure adoption processes.
    • Utility coordination experience.
    • Temporary Works or NRSWA qualifications.
